A Circus Diabolique
As the Pied piper, when the first circus came to town A farewell to the flesh so blame the poetic clown Passages from darkness to light, from winter to summer: Fearful winds blow through cold channels, of the mummer Removing the stone of Till, the truth is frightening still as you are trying, to swallow the evil tragedies a comical pill They paid the piper, while all the rats lead the way Ghostly wagons were closer to home, even until today Wickedly this way comes, from the Great Famine Deceiving to hide the truth, their lust for the mammon, liken to the wood cutters wife the visible phantasm, young children to fend for themselves, or even cannibalism Copper mines, dwarfs the imagination, from a trickle to a flood, like pan was really watching you chewing on your own cud Demons have begun to lead you and your children astray, watching in horror, diabolical taboos be the fairy tales sway The receiver of stolen goods, artfully dodging little urchins, while cautionary tales carry on the frightful burdens The violator comes to an unpleasant fate, in grisly detail like Kokopelli, the robbing dessert fly the songs that retell, As a world bewails the black death, rats lead the way If to the circus they did not run, then where are they Saudade was once described as the love that remains by sharp fires of a camp a tinker receives the blame
