Tom
Tom, he was a soldier and a fighter. No man could be more bold, Than Tom, our beloved brother. A stubborn man, but a heart of gold. A trader who knew how to deal; He could get a diamond from an orange peel. But Tom walked on the road of sin, And knew nothing but trouble till Mercy walked in. His expression turned from frown to smile, As his name was put in the Lamb's book file. He changed from a sinful wretch To the Fisher of Man's greatest catch. Loving father and caring brother, There is no man any kinder. With his old harmonica he expressed His faith as he continually pressed, Pressed toward the mark of a better Christian, For this in eternity he shall have his mansion. Along life's road he did ride, 'Till, Death, Sin's servant said, "No more on earth will you reside." Then took his life and left his body on his bed. As Tom passed on, the angel Gabriel did take his hand To lead him up to eternity's promised land. Along the path to eternity, They passed those fools so poor and weary; Those fools who in life thought, That there placement in Heaven could be bought. But they did not stop, but continued with great speed, As if they road upon a great white steed. As they went through earth's atmosphere, Visions like dreams began to appear. They flew by visions as they did go, Where Christ on Calvary His love did show Upon that tree of sin and grief, That we from sin might find relief. As they reached that jasper wall, Those pearly gates so grand and tall; They did swing, swing open wide To reveal the place where he will abide. They went down the streets of gold. Truths to his questions start to unfold. As they approached God's throne so grand, He recognizes Christ by his scarred hand Sitting in his right hand position. God points to Tom's house with a finger of light. When Tom saw his mansion He said, "Dad burn, this sucker 's a sight."
