Theirs was a white washed hacienda which was located on the other side of the small desert wash. It seemed to me that this older couple often times were up on their roof. They worked hard on whatever repairs had to be made, sometime taking long breaks while they sat close to each other, seemed to sit there quietly. Perhaps they were enjoying the beautiful panorama that the desert's foothills had to offer. Sometimes they talked for a little bit and sometimes they just looked affectionately into each other's eyes. What did this couple have that was so special? There seemed to be a sort of wonderful mystery to this intriguing couple. This couple happened to be natives of the land, the deserts's original people if you will. As they did their repair work upon their roof the man was dressed in a pair of blue jeans and a long white shirt so that he could keep the brutal sun's rays from burning him to a crisp... also he wore a wide brimmed hat. His wife wore similar protective clothing, only instead of her work shirt being white, hers was a plaid which had a dark pink color to it. I turned away and knew this couple had a love the way it was meant to be... and I would love to find a love like that and would wait for God's best for me.
