Words, the Heart of Imagination
Imagined words, I will retrace they're whispered, clear, from somewhere back in time... These words I hear, can't be erased I will reclaim, within my mind I'll climb aboard this train of thought and will recall, what's been forgot and feel a gentle nudge, or two to tread through words I've never found I look anew, and they are there in everything, the season shares As if they were a thing to fondle that days and years have made complete Words fall like rain, from hidden shelves And rise where deeper places dwell and from deep within the vase of self I write of stories old, and viewed, now retrieved as something new When thoughts were raindrops falling at my feet I’ll splash around, and watch them ripple new Tonight I bare my folly to the moon O’ moon, you saw the ways the devil woos How roses swoon to songs so out of tune But something shapes them into naked truths A bloom that seeks the sun will feel the glow And gentle touch feels whispers from the breeze Instead of sonnets sung with little breath Each poem has had his chance, to leave my pen with ease I trace the choices made…each withered piece Old words now steal my breath, against my will Made captive by a heart who seeks the thrill _________________________
