Tremors In the Dark
Lay down my child, be wrapped within my welcoming arms. I am the blanket of the night. Tender thy hold until lights of the morrow. Laying down to sleep, foggy is her mind. Nestling down to the empty space of oblivion. Slowly the beating of her heart. S-S-Stutter does her heart of seconds uncalled. Nearly jumping out of her skin. She cannot recall what brought awareness. But the eery feeling of inky havoc, has her trembling under her sheets. Satans greedy claws tearing at her chest. Lay down my child, Let the night not scare, be humbled to the peace, a taste of death as we speak. Screams erupt in her mind, the whisps and shadows of something else. Ungrippable, intangible, inconceivable. Toss left, toss right. Let you're pulse take flight. A sneer, blood dripping off fangs. Lay down my child, rest thy eyes. Something lurks in the dead of night. Be it not human, be it not kind, it'll always lurk on the edge of minds.
