The Pond
As I look at my life it seems quite a wreck In the concept of time I am but a speck Much like a stone that is tossed on a pond The ripples just stay there they don't go beyond. People I've met come to visit me there They touch my heart I return from nowhere I think of my life my life is that pond When I reach out to people the ripples journey beyond. The spectrum is the rainbow the changes are bold Waiting at the end is that illusive pot of gold I see the gold as my friendships the people who become part They seem to have a home inside of my heart... Though you can't see it doesn't mean it's not there The ripples on the pond just magically appear. The moon shines on the ripples as they sparkle with delight Though it is dark there seems so much light. The pond and its ripples are like the changes in me As my eyes shed a tear it's the beauty I see And though my life seems much like a wreck The ripples inside are getting me wet... Like a wilted flower that needed water some more As the ripples grow in size my spirit starts to soar And though the ripples remain inside the pond There effects of them seem to reach way beyond...
