Flowers On the Water
I saw this beautiful wreath of flowers floating on the water. Where did it come from I ask, and where is it going. I found out it came from a lonely girl who was going home. She had heard a legend and threw it because it was a tradition. Ah, Hawaii, beautiful land where we all dream of going someday. Paradise they say and many of you have been already. Her wreath was floating back to shore, and she was happy. Her love was still in Hawaii and this meant that she would return. Oh how she longed to be with him and to smell the flowers on the island. Orchids were her favorite and she longed to see them once more. Her ship was now miles out to sea and what was that on the water. Someone's wreath was floating out to sea and she felt their pain. Grief was in her heart because she realized that if the legend was true, Someone would never return to this lovely paradise. Tears were falling down her face as she realized that she was leaving. Farther and Farther away she was going from her love. In her heart though she knew that springtime would come again. The flowers would bloom again and she would be with her love forever.
