Delicious! Coffee always smells so divine! It’ not quite noon, but kids are already at the pool Splashing loudly, “Marco Polo!” They serenade There goes the ice cream truck, slowly rolling down some street Playing nursery rhyme jingles making stops along the way Children screeching, with Moms’ admonishing Ice cream, for the moment, is all they can see Down to the beach, later, I am sure to go Where lively ocean waves, Smack the crowded shore As sea gulls screech, and fight over their meal And laughter erupts from kids, big and small In the cool of the evening with the sun ending its watch The smooth sounds of a lone saxophone, rides the breeze jazzy and so cool! Wafting in the air for all to enjoy All these are, my most memorable sounds of a hot summer’s day!
