The Skeptic
I do believe the world is flat, I'm confident it's so. Many adhere to the thought of a sphere, ridiculous! I say no! -For if this was an Earth with curves, a ball, rounded and circular, we'd fall off that globe, but it's flat, so we don't, of this, I'm certain, for sure! I do believe that man cannot fly, I'm ardent to this fact. To grace the heavens like a phaesent, exists only in draft. -For it is nothing less then this, absurd, a dream, too obtuse, a whim. I see much despair, lifting heavier then air, and I swear physics won't allow it. I do believe this telephone is for fools, I don't forsee its use. It's a trinket, a toy, for girls and for boys, -but not a plausible tool. Who would enjoy to be bothered all day? How much can one talk, pray, what would one say? Give it three years, it will dissappear, as the newest of gimmicks to fade. I do believe...I may have been wrong. I see this now to be true. I have scorned and condemned, and withheld consent, upon anything different and new. The imagination and potential of man, surpassed the limits lesser Gods might command, -but before my life ends, I leave you this gem, Believe it will be, and it can.
