Is It Friend Or Foe That Visits You So?
I was walking through a wood, trees to the right-hand side of me on a slope - upwards; rocks to the left-hand side of me, sloping down towards a lake. As I walked along, I realized that I had three creatures at my side. A tabby cat, quite large, indifferent, youngish. A dog, black labrador with the physique of a rottweiler. An old dog with a stern, kind face. I thought it might snap at any minute. And a fish - browny-green. I held it in my hands. It was warm, very dry with not scales but something like rubbery-rough textured skin. I focused on the fish, passing it from one hand to the other. Then it dawned on me, the fish wasn't dying yet out of water! So I said 'fish you can breath!' The fish started to breath very deeply, slowly and calmly. I held it closer to get a better look. Where upon, the fish's tail came off and felt to the rock. The tail submerged and blended with the rocky crevices. I looked back at the fish in my hand. It's head came off. The fish's head fell to the rocks and merged, disappeared into a hole in the rock's surface. I was left with the flesh of the fish. I thought to myself, should I eat the flesh of the fish. I was pondering over whether it would be ethical to eat the fish's flesh? I thought, should I put the remaining part of the fish in the lake to my left hand side? It was then I realized I was dreaming. I started to analysis the dream I was having as I dreamed. I thought - what does it mean to dream about animals? Well to dream about a dog can have various meanings. If it is aggressive, it's a bad omen. If it is kind it's a good omen. I went through all of the things the dream could mean. And then came the worst bit. I thought, If I know I'm dreaming and what it means, I can alter the dream to be a good omen. Then I got frightened. If the dream is there to warn me that something is going wrong in my life and I change it so that I have a pleasant dream, because now I'm lucid dreaming and I can control it; will this mean that the danger the omen signifies will happen because now I'm controlling my dream world that is warning me of dangers in the real world? If I don't receive the warning that I am in danger will I be able to prevent it? I woke up in a sweat - I could control my sleeping world but not my waking world. I want to control both! Thus, I've come to the conclusion that I'm a control freak, I can't sleep without obsessing about control!
