You Had Your Chance

She didn’t want diamonds—just her dad’s eyes.
But his love was lost in fire and lies.
Raised by a mother who broke, but stayed,
While the stepmother hit and love decayed.

She hid in closets to feel safe,
Surviving storms, silence, and hate.
One birthday broke her—she ran, she cried,
But behind the wheel, she finally replied.

Blamed. Locked up. Left in the dark—
Until love stepped in and lit a spark.
They fought. They won. The monster fell.
But healing’s slow after living in hell.

Years passed. A child. A home of peace.
Then her past returned, begging release.
But this time, she held her ground.
Looked at her girl—love profound.

“You’ll never hide to feel okay.
Not in a closet. Not any day.”
She closed the door, broke the chain—
A mother reborn from all that pain.
