Billy Powell Poem
If Only
If only I could reach out and touch you,
Press my lips against yours, anytime, day or night.
If only my dreams of you would turn to reality,
Bringing us together until the end of time.
If only you knew how you live in me,
When I'm awake and in my dreams.
If only you knew you saved my heart,
Unlocking my mind and soul.
If only you knew how you opened my emotions,
When I thought they were already dead.
If only you could see when you look in my eyes,
A stark reflection of the two of us.
If only you knew you are the one,
That transformed my life.
If only I knew,
You already knew

Billy Powell Poem
Revelation
Upon a soft brown couch I lie
Sobbing, I wish I would die
I speak of harm to people I love
Ask forgiveness from God above
The filth and guilt spill out of me
Where this will end, I cannot see
A silent statue listens to my story
He urges me, “Go on, don't worry"
I spill my guts 'bout what I have done
I feel so trapped, I cannot run
We meet like this two times a week
To talk of my pain while at it's peak
I tell of all my evil dreams contain
Speak of things I hate and disdain
I tell of the guilt I cannot carry
And “Hell” with it's things so scary
We talk of the power of love and hate
He says “And what of your mental state?”
“You suggest I'm crazy? You wouldn't dare!”
I look at the statue with a cold blank stare
The statue sits and stares back at me
Waits to see what my answer will be
“Do you really think I'm crazy?”
I'm very insulted and ready to walk
“I asked you first” he says with a grin
“Answer my question, and then we'll begin”
“I Don't think I'm crazy, just very bad dreams”
“Fair 'nuff”, he says. “Crazy, no I don't think you to be”
“But sick, yes, I would say that's the state
Whether you agree is not open for debate
I've listened and noted all that's been said
I know of your pain and bottomless dread
You're not a bad man, evil you did not do
Your dreams are a sickness, depression too
Look what you've done, all on your own
Fought all these feelings while still all alone”
“What's wrong with you has a very long name
Treatment is long, painful, not a fun game
We need to get balance, so we'll medicate
Then when you're ready we'll open the gate
Tell me all that your dreams have revealed
We'll do this together, let's get you healed”
Just like a lightening bolt, it all made sense
Not alone anymore, of greatest significance
I wasn't a murderer, a rapist or molester
Weren't any cats, dragons or monsters
No heavy chains, evil, cages or “Hell
Once and for all no darkness, where I fell
There is one regret I find hard to dismiss
A dreamed loved one must go in the abyss
Now my friend; I'm on the road to recovery
I'm just happy I lived to make the discovery

Billy Powell Poem
Day Dream
Imagination always gets the best of me
Day dreaming 'bout a special someone
What's in my heart, no one can see
Making a connection not easily undone
Bruised and sullen storm clouds appear
When I can't touch you, and we're apart
It's more than memories that I hold dear
It's the way you got into my hurting heart
For you and me it's just a one way street
Over and over I'm falling in love with you
With out your devotion I'd be incomplete
I now stand before you, reborn and new
Dreams of you intoxicate my soul
I won't squander reverie on just any one
Over my imagination I have no control
Your happiness and care is oh so fun
I look toward a promise of paradise
But, my dear, if you would not be present
I'd rather reconsider against all advice
Than live without you in eternal torment
Sometimes you bring me to my knees
You give me your heart, soul and time
What I owe you is deeper than the seas
Keeping silent would be such a crime
Imagination gets the best of me
Did you really get to me or is it a dream?
It's a reality, so I make this undying decree
You'll always have my heart to the extreme.
I will always day dream . . . . . .

Billy Powell Poem
"GOOD RIDDANCE!"
I'll have to make some changes
Things will never be the same
What you did touched me
There's no one else to blame
What you did was unforgivable
The time we used to share
I've given up being the victim
And you don't even care
A tiger can't change it's stripes
You'll take your guilt to the ground
As the dirt covers your face
Two words can bring me round
“YOU'RE GONE”
I look into the mirror
I see no happiness
All the love I gave you
Has turned to emptiness
The love I gave has fallen
The time we used to share
You've left me here believing
In love that wasn't there
Changes, growing older
Root myself to the ground
Word to the wise - You got what's coming
Two words can bring me round
“YOU'RE GONE”
Last I looked in your eyes all I saw was foul
There's just no way to save it now
And everything I felt
Changes
For some reason you're questioning why
I always believed it gets better
One difference between you and I
Your guilt is inside your head
One word for you
One word by me
A clear design on my liberty
When your deed was done
Who would believe in me
How do I move on like everyone
The boy was such a trusting fool
Trusting your sick and jealous heart
I'll have to make some changes
How will I, my life to chart
Root myself to the ground
Capitalize on this misfortune
Two words can bring me round
“YOU'RE GONE”
One road leads to loneliness
It's always the same
One road leads to happiness
It's calling my name
You misused my love and trust
Mental pain, from selfish abuse
You destroyed a happy childhood
My trust and love you misused
Word to the wise - Well you got what's coming
Six words - Six words can bring me round
“YOU'RE DEAD AND GONE, GOOD RIDDANCE!”

Billy Powell Poem
Forever Us
You need to know I'm praying
That you hear what I'm saying
I'd be there if the sun refused to shine
As we both get older
I'll be your shoulder
There to hold you when you're weak
I've given you my heart
Even if we're torn apart
I'd pitch everything to get back to you
Just look into my eyes
Till every tear drop dies
Every moment, every day, forever

Billy Powell Poem
Daisies
A daisy gives it's life to help decide
If you love me or love me not
Do you count them first?
A daisy gives it's life to help decide
If you love me or love me not
Do you know the answer first?
Do you really need a daisy to decide?
If you love me or love me not
Ask your heart for the answer first
The daisies will love you for it,
And I already do.
