Wards Poems

The Foul Mouthed

Foul mouthed he was, foul mouthed he was called,
A beast with words,an obsession he wards,
South is his tone, without a fear to his baritone,
A grave his tongue digs, for him he'll only sink.

Abandoned

These walls, crumbling through time.
seeing old metal beds, stained mattresses,
broken sinks and toilets, rusted old medical supplies and a vacant morgue.

I'm walking through a dark place where pain was inflicted,
on patients to non existing ailments.
Lobotomies, electroshock, meds that these doctors and nurses,
thought would cure such simple illnesses.

 The flickering florescent lights above

Premium Member8 Billion Wards of the States

All 8 billion of us
have mental illness
some
subtly
so
others profound
its a matter of degree
of shade..

some reach out - adapt
become chefs-CEOS- presidents
others curl inward
cannibalize themselves
crapping out
psychopaths
creeping about
raking fangs along
our plump peace cloud...

We've emptied asylums
population at critical mass
somebodies gonna crack
lay twisted neck upon the tracks
derailing society
plucking lives
off the vine
before
they're
ripe

Honey Bees Are Flying Back Wards

breast milk brewed
in factories liberated
colostrum in packets
saints steal the milk
of calves drink then pray
believing in a myth
heat of love in plastic
bags swollen
while leaves eat the sun
turning green we destroy them
honey bees are flying back wards

Wards of the State

In the wards of the state
Custody is gruesome
We breathe and speak our constraints
Looming from hallway rumors

I am the hawk in the clock
Shaking hands with fate
Existing in between discretion

Charged with numbers
Time is the shock of stillness
We foam with desire
And wrench our poison pens

They train us like fire dogs
A hazard to be expunged

Anirtak(Katrina Spelled Back Wards How She Left

in search of victims
none were found
trees blew
water filled the town
quick alert the systems

broke and weak
stranded.
rich and powerful
vanish

no shelter
broken promises

this is america
we united
one storm
now it's whatever!

my feelings can't
hide it
when it comes to weather

katrina the tropical storm
knocked down houses and churches
even hospitals gone.
