Divine Magnetism
Oh God, in your benevolent presence I find,
A tranquil haven for my troubled mind.
Even if I stray far and go beyond your view,
I feel a divine magnetism pulling me to you.
At times I feel how thankless I am
And wonder if not my piety, a mere sham?
My heart rises up to heaven
Whenever I wriggle in pain
But sadly, I forget you,
As soon as I am through.
Sooner when I overcome my strife,
You bless me with a fresh lease of life
You send down beams of light,
Into my dark and dreary night.
You glue up the shards,
When I am broken and at odds.
You kindly pick me up,
When I fall and lose my pluck.
You put a smile on my face,
Even on losing my race.
Each time when I cry,
My tears you gently dry.
When I fall down under the weight,
You come to me and gently lift
When I drift without direction,
You show me the way with affection.
Your light never fails to guide.
With you, how safe I feel inside.
You supply me with all I need.
You are my life’s greatest comfort, indeed.
Give me grace ever to stay within your magnetic field
To seek your whim and to temptations, never yield
