Not epic nor disastrous, a life mediocre
A trait that followed me down to the crypt
Expressions neutral, a good face for poker
Like everything about me, nondescript

I'm sure I could be out committing crimes
Who could describe my median brand
But after years gone by and passing times
I just wade in the plain and the bland

Subtle attributes most often concealed.

Consider the weeds that rampantly grow
In garden that's sculpted with loving care
Unwanted intruders and yet they glow
Sublime in meadow flowering laisse-faire.

It's all a matter of one's perspective
Is something nondescript, or is it not?

No one at the dog park ever shouted:
“Hey look at him, he’s so gracefully beautiful”.

We had met by chance
Each on our daily stroll
Shared a moment together.

He fell into step with my gait
And we, somehow, became friends.

Shades of amber


Sparkling tints here
Gemstones fling cheer


Pearls on a string

There is no price

These ancient woods
