Weekend Father

Unfortunate circumstances made me a weekend father
Two parents separated by a marred history,
now had to care for a child ...
an innocent victim who received emotional shrapnel
as collateral damage from our argumentative battles
Our destructive habits fell onto her,
but children are very resilient, thank God
I loved being a weekend father
There was no bitterness about allotted time of custody,
none of that foolishness
My wife and I settled our divorce amicably ... no courts involved,
except for the legal formality of having a divorce decree issued
by the state
We worked things out between us much better being apart than when we
were married
It's funny how that works
So I got my daughter on the weekends, but over time I had her
more than the weekends
We bonded pretty good
And anyone with kids will tell you, that four-year-olds are a quirky bunch
They're old enough to do enough things for themselves,
but they still want you to do a lot of things for them ...
y'know, they still want the baby treatment
My daughter, she really only demanded two things of me when I first
started having her every weekend:
she wanted us to watch movies together, movies like "Lion King,"
or play video games together, video games like "Lion King"
And she didn't like the part of the movie where Simba's dad, Mustafa died
She always cried, and told me to skip that part ...
that always touched my heart
Because it told me, in unspoken words, that she loved me and didn't
want anything bad to happen to me
When she turned five, I enrolled her at my alma mater college,
in an art program for kids
My sister and father told me that my daughter had artistic ability
So every Saturday, we spent half the day at the college,
because after she got out of class, we would get something to eat,
then go to the main library on campus and get on the computers
To make a long story shorter ... she received an art degree
when she became grown
Becoming an illustrator and computer graphic artist
That's what being a weekend father means to me

Satan and Almighty God- Collab

You Suffocate Me with Darkness…

 ~Satan~

Lawless, deceiver

Perverting, accusing, murdering

Fallen angel, ruler of darkness, marriage destroyer

You stalk, you lie, you destroy, you steal my loved ones’ joy

You are the real loser

 in

The

 End

You permeate my life with prisms of warm sunshine…

~Almighty God~

Rejuvenator, love illustrator, galaxy maker, poem saver

Shepherding, protecting, sacrificing

Prince of Peace, Sea-calmer, our best friend

You came, you lived, you sacrificed your life

You

are

the

main event

In Paradise…

Our Lord

Crofts of humble
mute to grumble
What prods a heart to seek succor?
Fall to tumble
mind a’jumble
spayed fingers join to clasp in prayer.

Flipped to sober
fearless warrior
What tools to fight off plights of fear?
High to lower
wise the warrior
Gains strength and force in quiet’s calm.

Thank you Karen O'Leary...I'll send you

Franklyn Greene, Former Competing Bodybuilding Man

Don’t let the last name fool you of Greene
As you continue to read, you will understand what made him structured lean
Mr. Greene was a man who won International Federation of Bodybuilders of MR. WORLD title twice
There were times when Mr. Greene called Joe Weider and asked for advice
It was intensity with the weights
Then taking in food protein and drinking protein shakes
Mr. Greene is a personal friend of mine
He used to tell me stories of bodybuilding ways
Also stay away from drugs and go astray
Yet he was every bodybuilder’s friend
But on the Bodybuilding stage, it was about the win
Mr. Greene’s muscles were his voice on stage
In the audience, it was the posing that did amaze
It left the audience and Judge’s in a daze
It was his proportion being the fine line
Then it was the repetitions that contributed being combined
Under the spotlight, Mr. Greene was the terminator
But it was his posing being the illustrator
Franklyn Greene was focused down to the finish
This is what makes him distinguished
A Bodybuilding champion who was meant to be
The world witnessed and was able to see
Mr. Greene made Bodybuilding everything that it should be
He is now retired from competition, but continues to train
Bodybuilding in his heart still remains
His motto, “Train with focus and eye on detail”
Franklyn Greene who did achieve and many bodybuilding awards he did receive. Accomplishments with many wins, and with a past being a milestone, but the name of Franklyn Greene who is still known.

Beatrix Potter

A good old duck, a mother hen,
a friend of Peter Rabbit; chased
Mr. McGregor out of the garden:
the Flopsy Bunnies survive again.

She knew her ewes from her rams,
meticulous, house-proud in her way.
A hedgehog, a Mrs. Tiggy Winkle
every field mouse allowed to stay.

Cumbria and the Lake District
will never see her like again:
North country girl, illustrator,
storyteller with brush and pen.

Gormenghast

...a tribute to British novelist and illustrator
Mervyn Peake, and his trilogy, 'Gormenghast'

Behold his birth, a brand new Earl,
the Guardian of the Halls of Groan!
yet 'til he reach the age of seven
his father Sepulchrave will own
the ritual and the royal robes
of office o'er this shadowed realm,
'til Titus, as is writ in stone,
shall supersede him at the helm.

Yet all the while another boy
has set his sights on majesty,
Steerpike, lowly kitchen hand, who's
bound to foil this sovereignty.
A narrow-shouldered, evil lad
with schemes to murder and to burn,
to render chaos, anarchy
and withal the throne to earn.

The Library engulfed in flames,
Lord Sepulchrave's most favour'd spot,
his sisters Cora, Clarice too,
locked in their rooms and left to rot.
Barquentine, who minds the Books
'til Titus is to come of age,
succumbs to death at Steerpike's hand,
fated to drown, the trusty sage.

The faithful old retainer, Flay
is banish'd by the this lad's design,
and Swelter, Master Chef, is slain
no more to cook, no more to dine.
The Lady Fuschia, Titus' kin,
is fooled by Steerpike's boyish charm,
confused, beguil'd by lover's eyes,
she cannot keep herself from harm.

It falls to Titus to engage
this devil with a devil's rage.
In mortal combat he doth strive
'til he's the one who's left alive.
Though Master of the Sacred Halls,
he's overcome with grief and woe;
alone and with a saddened heart
he quits his home, it's time to go.

Holy Light, Christmas Unites

Illustrator all the years through
For the roads laden with dew
One day a fat man will arrive
Winds to fill with sweet drive

Scent of togetherness flows
Streets of hopeful stars glows
Cold breeze turns the nose red
This color of love widely spread

Smiles of tinkling bells filled joy
Dreaming sleigh ride as a decoy
Decorations tying the cities alike
Special treats being the delight

Rushing to shops to buy and buy
Presents and gifts touching sky
Listening tree the most desired
Adorning it together like a child

Hymns cheer the heart to unite
Santa must be soon by the side
Hopes and aspirations tie family
Christmas turns heart go homily

The Chili Frost of Night

Lovers promising they’ll never part; and a Dixie woman’s daughter;
That builds the walls within her heart.
A Detroit motor purring; with a top that would go down;
And the blues coming from the radio; sends a message I can understand;
these are the stories that express the kind of guy I am.
          And the illustrator often erases with his rubber the distinctions;
That so often distinguishes good intentions.
          Tattoos fade like pictures from the past;
And as deafening sounds of silence prevent peace within the night
The spirit of the jackal lies in wait; in hopes for a chance to fight

Premium Member Terrified of Being Outed

I did not know I was worthwhile when I was a child
I thought I was pretty, but that got bashed out of me
I knew I was bad; the belt proved that, right?

An artist? A poet? A cartoonist? A writer? An illustrator?
I was not told any of this; instead I thought I was dumb and weird.
We were told this, my sister and I, so we “would not get big heads.”

No worries there. We were terrified others would discover our secret.
Feared being found out, and outed, made fun of by the others.
It was bad enough we were fools in our own home.
