Winter Moments Recited

WINTER MOMENTS

Sunlight on the tiles
dusted white—
imprint in the snow
hunger brings a stranger
at night;
the frozen verge
inert below,where
summer awaits;
Aconites gaze
into the sun
'neath dangling catkins;
 Long twilight days in winter's shade
bring to-morrow's
snowdrops in the glade;
A whistling wind,
a scatter of rain
sounds of night
on my window pane.
