When things go sideways

I took an unexpected trip to Accidental city, bruised ribs, torn ligaments, a state most would pity.. Yesterday I experienced a trip and a fall on uneven asphalt outside a local mall.. There weren't any witnesses to observe my little feat. I focused on getting back up and safely from the street. My left hip's been iffy for quite awhile so I pulled myself up in a downward dog style.. If it were only a few bruises I would just say tsk tsk but once up I realized my pelvis I had twist.. After reporting it to security I went directly home. A night with heat and arnica and several mournful moans.. I could bear weight on my right leg so I hobbled thru the day, until I discovered if I walk my left foot side ways, it keeps the pain at bay.. The author of this poem is still hobbling and hurting so would some one out there kindly get up and close my curtain?

Dear Ms. Ink, I was a healthy senior who went to the gym three times a week. Life can change in a heartbeat and falls are serious for seniors especially. Thank you for the visit and your kind words are always most appreciated. Blessings to you and Happy Easter weekend.

Hi Marugu, Thank you for your good wishes. I haven't been on here in awhile due to pain issues. I went to a walk in clinic today and they are saying fractured femur. I will be getting a further evaluation tomorrow. Happy Easter to all that celebrate and many thanks for the well wishes..

Hey Nancy, I like how your poem captures a moment of unexpected adversity with a touch of humor and resilience. The opening lines immediately draw the reader into the speaker's experience of an unplanned trip to "Accidental city," setting the tone for a tale of mishap and injury.

Hi Silent One, Sadly torn ligaments can take between two to six weeks to heal so I am very compromised at present. I generally like to stand at the computer but not now obviously. Thanks for your visit and cheers to you.

oh my! So sorry you experienced such a nasty fall. Over the past couple of years, I, too, have visited Accidental City. I fractured my back and ended up having rotator cuff surgery (no fun) After six months I can finally sleep without pain. My dear hubby took care of me so well....always closing the curtains without my asking :-) Definitely a relatable poem. Thanks for sharing your experience...hope you're better soon, hugs Sara

Dear Sara, Thanks so much for your empathy. I will be getting a mri soon but it is hard to walk or stand and get comfortable enough to sleep long. Falls are no fun for sure!
