What It Means To Be American

“What it means to be American” by T.C.Fulton The struggle for freedom.. The sacrifice.. The blood..The sweat..The tears.. We the people.. Don’t tell me..I don’t belong.. This crowd has a heritage.. These people have a dream.. We believe in freedom.. The honor of all.. The unity of all.. Every member of this nation.. Has faced struggle..sorrow..death.. We have chosen to lean.. not on our government.. Not on the differences..that we all have.. We have chosen to lean on each other.. To trust that together ..One Nation.. One people.. Under God.. We will become the best that we can be.. We will overcome our fears..our imperfections.. Our mistakes..our failures.. Though sometimes..we hurt each other.. We forgive..Though sometimes we see things differently.. We compromise.. When we fail.. we fail together.. When we succeed..we succeed together.. No heartache ..will we ever face alone.. Our Faith..our hope..our love..unites us.. One family endowed by our creator.. Together we face the future.. Knowing our strength..is a house united.. One United States of America. written by T.C.Fulton July 2021

I liked your poem and enjoyed reading it very much, Travis. I picked up on the allusions to "The Pledge of Allegiance" in it. Very nice!
