What For?

You were outraged, although you smiled You felt that you could hardly care You see me as an orphan child Too often, more than you can bear Say it ain’t so, confute my words I much prefer them to be wrong But I just wanted to be heard Not isolated for so long This shallow life is getting deep Truth split in halves, as I have seen You’re calm and silent, when you sleep With your remote, beside the screen I came to kiss you, but you thought I’ve had enough, and maybe more Than I deserved, so you have got A little extra time, what for?
