Trash In the Cup

There is something amiss with that VACUUM CLEANER. As if it didn't know, from floor to cup, the debris and dust must go. It's ailing from something peculiar, but I don't know exactly what. There's a small rectangular cloth-like FILTER toward the bottom of the vac. So I checked and cleaned the filter but thought, "This could not be the culprit". No delight, but I was right. The little filter was not the culprit. I checked the BRUSH and cleared it of hair, strings, and other stuff engulfed with a lot of dust that should be in the CUP. That is enough to make a fuss, but that was not a repair, but merely a maintenance affair. A lot of trash has been leaving the carpet, but it never reaches the vacuum cup. So I, like Mr. Fix-It-Man continued to wonder why. There was no need to check the BELT because the brush was spinning normally. The sound of the MOTOR has become unusually loud and reached the zone of annoying. A few minutes of annoyance doesn't feel so bad, but I fear that if the mystery of the vacuum cleaner isn't resolved soon, it will be abandoned before long. My patience is still hard at work. So I continue on. I then check the HOSE and cleared it of a lot of trash that never made it to the cup. I cleared it from the entry point below to the exit point above at the top of the cup, thinking that it would be enough. When I was done, there remained no debris. "Marvelous! Problem solved! This vac will now serve me well"; or so I thought. Against all odds I had fought; having sought everything that could have gone awry. But yet, said I, "This vac seems to do everything except 'Vacuum'. It simply refuses to suck from the floor to the cup like it suppose to. My options are rapidly running amuck, and my patience is now wearing thin. I shall abandon this vac rather soon". Still thinking that I really am Mr. Fix-It-Man, I refused to give in. That vac was making me tired. So, what do I do when all else fails? I took a good nap and later resumed my quest to fix the vac. The cup had no debris, but it was crying to be cleaned. So I decided to clean the cup, and in so doing, I discovered ANOTHER FILTER at the top of the cup, much larger and important-looking than the first filter I had cleaned earlier. Perhaps I had seen this filter before on a prior clean but forgot about it. I tell you, it was one of the dirtiest filters that I have ever seen. The material was rough and rugged like cardboard and formatted like an accordion. There was a great buildup of dirt and grim. So I cleaned it real good, and thought to myself, "This has to be the culprit". I had clearly ran out of options; and hoping that cleaning the big filter may have been the cure, I plugged it in and did a test run to be sure; whereupon, after a couple of minutes, I checked the cup. Bingo! I had found the culprit. There was new trash where it should be. In the cup! 080121PS
