This Is the Way of the Cross Mark 8:34-38 Niv
The Way of the Cross
Than he called the crowd to him along with his disciples and said: "Whoever
wants to be my disciple must deny himself and take up my cross and follow
me. For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever losses their
own life for my sake and for the gospel will save it. What good is it for you to
gain the whole world, yet forfeit your soul? Or what can you give in exchange
for your soul? If any are ashamed of me and my words in this adulterous
and sinful generation, the Son of Man will be ashamed of you when he comes
in His Father's glory with the holy angels," Mark 8:34-38.
Peter and John before the Sanhedrin Acts 4:12
They had Peter and John brought before them and began to question them: "By
what power or by what name did you do this? Than Peter, filled with the Holy
Spirit, said to them: Rulers and Elders of the people! If we are called today for
an act of kindness shown to a man who was lame and being asked how he was
healed, than know this, you and all of the people of all of the people of Israel: It
is by the name of Jesus of Nazareth, whom you crucified but whom God raised
from the dead, that this man stands before you healed.
Jesus is: "the stone which has become the cornerstone."
Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name given under heaven
by which we might be saved.
Acts 4: 18-21
Than they called them again and commanded them not to speak or to teach in
the name Jesus. But Peter and John replied, "What is in God's eyes: to listen
to you, or to him? You be the judges! As for us, we cannot stop help speaking
about what we have seen and heard,"
After further threats, they let them go. They could not decide how to punish them,
because all of the people were praising God for what had happened. For the man
who was miraculous healed was over forty years old.
Acts 4: 25-26
You spoke through the Holy Spirit from the mouth of your servant,
our father, David.
"Why do the nations rage
and the peoples plot in
vain? The kings of the
earth rise up and the
rulers band together
against the Lord and
against his anointed one,
you builders rejected."
Luke 23: 34
"Jesus said, "Father, forgive them for they know not what they are doing."
Luke 23: 42-43
Then he said, (the thief on his right hand), "Jesus, remember me when you
come into your kingdom."
Than Jesus answered him, "Truly I tell you, today you will be with me
in paradise."
