The Rest Of The Story Part Two

One often tries to set things back, to fix and sort without the knack, HUMPTY DUMPTY comes to mind, don’t be silly, rash or blind, but looking round as best one can, for stuff alike a top class scan, a swop or close match just began, though broken pieces I recall, now is not the time to stall, this former figure once stood tall, an inspiration to us all, bounce astride that hapless fall, what time revealed one never knows, where this tragic story goes, as human beings cling to hope, nebulous an off track scope, edge of cliff wild sway of rope, fancy vision left to mope, clouded prospect not a chance, faint image of that dream romance, reflections from that mirrored stance

I like this poem that is set in line with the Humpty Dumpty saga. The poem has well connected words. Very good.

It sounds like suicide with the rope thing in it. What was the end result, Howard? Did he never recover?

Hi Andrea, The edge of cliff rope line is a metaphor for clutching at straws. The end result in part two is we sometimes cannot recover what is lost in any shape or form. Part one was more optimistic. I hope that clarifies matters. Once more thanks for your feedback Howard

Dear Howard, your poem revolves around the metaphor of Humpty Dumpty, the broken figure who cannot be put back together, and the exploration of the human experience of facing challenges and setbacks. Your word choice is varied and rich, with the use of descriptive language such as "top class scan," "hapless fall," and "wild sway of rope" creating vivid imagery. Great work my friend, thanks for your uplifting comments on my page.
