My candle burns at both ends. It will not last the night. But, ah my foes, and oh, my friends, it sheds a lovely light. Author: Edna Saint Vincent Millay Her very first published poem….. “First Fig. “ In later years, on to win a Pulizer Prize. ~The Destructive Blame Candle~ Panagiota Romios Nothing impressive, or ……so it seems. Yet the rainbow blame candle warming our dreams. It removes us from any and all global responsibilities. We prance about like innocent babes, wuth no sense of basic integrity. We have, within us, the power to be a political player To make a diffrence on life’s glorious, impressive stage. However, we were taught to be insanely huggable? Make no-waves, and never ruffle life’s violent page? You..yes, you and I get cozy and so vainly new born-pure We deny with every ounce of our being, we conform? Infants, so lost and politically dense and demure! And thus, you witness mayhem and murder galore worlwide. You are not ignorant, nor am I, this is no time to hide! Wake up poets, a nuclear missile might end up one day at your side We can begin in our poetic community by not destroying one poet and drowning them insulting comments with and our false pride. World Peace? Come on~how much have you donated to any any suffering nation? We all act so broke, like we’re living on dog food and rations? Refuse to read great novels or great poetry?l Instead, we read and think somehow our world will run on perfect Seamless symmetry ? Time has come my friends to face the fact that life is not one, Running on Three Stooges jokes. It’s well known, that booze, and drugs are used, do not lie! Have you recently toked? But, with vigor, we can with braveness face all our morrows We must have integrity, strength to banish human sorrows. Tis only when we pen ..inspired by love and truth, that are wins. Then and only then, the flame on the Blame Candle is gone… Magically gone, as your words are deeply now truth …..forsooth?? 3/3/2024

Hi, I saw this earlier, and every time I pressed for it wouldn’t take it and it wasn’t over limited. So I thought I’d come back later.. facing reality is what makes us grow. Hiding under the couch or behind the closet door and the bogeyman silly.. All kind of bullshit. Thinking it all to be happy ! We will never grow as poets, we are adults not children. Dear Beryl, and honoured collaborator! Violencce and death are abhorent to me, as well.. Cruelty in words, online are also a kind of violence . We both are keenly aware of it. So, the heart of evil exists at our very fingertips., the pretense of mankind lives!Since, it is the bane of our existence. I have seen hurtful people online.Killers of the spirit of man. I agree with David...a great deal of 'waking up' messages in your poem. I think maybe we 'play nice' and in so doing lose our integrity. Something for me to think about this evening. I agree. I like this a lot Pangie, and boy is it filled with a lot to try to WAKE US UP! You are very good at cutting to the chase. Love the line ending with 'dog food and rations.' It's interesting that I bring up stuff(probably too much) with people I know, and it's mostly silence. Maybe It's time to take the truth(best of our abilities) show on the road.

Right on, my poet brother, this is no Tom and Jerry cartoon! Great writers move me and I’m not saying I’m a great writer. But I know the books and poets who have changed my life.. even one sentence for a poet to make a difference. Aware people make differences the other ones ruin the planet. They need to grow up.. Daniel! I will no longer read any here who avoid reality.. life is not about the three Bears.. And those who share responsibility I want nothing to do with. Here or in the world.. Nobody is coming to save anyone. When I told school and there was dirt on the floor would say why don’t you pick up a piece of paper and they would say, with their accent big zman Come with Broom. They were 12 years old.. who writes here! I don’t know anymore. I need to hang out with poets, who are in actual contact with reality. The other I better stay away from.. I know you understand what I’m talking about.. Credit goes to mentors, transformational work, God, and the blessing through my life. Wonderful daughter, who writes here writes here.
