The Askance Chapter 4 Part 3b

Almost immediately, we were surrounded by a mass of blacken sea And I held onto Alkaiya, surrendering to fate for our death to be A moment pass, a time seemingly misplaced by the hands of God And in a moment… there were scorching flames searing hot From once a blacken sea is to prevail now, a river of flames Ashes and smoke filters the air with only a dying fire to remain I was on my knees with Alkaiya lying motionless in my arms Feeling miraculously alive given after the catastrophic outcome And stepping through the fire, The Askance towered over us Without a need of words he looks to me for tranquility’s outlast I sense his overpowering dread yet I couldn’t begin to understand Though after my nod of gratification, he simply disappears from the land We were alone once more and she was cold… perhaps too cold It be a moment to endure, when thought was a lifeless body I enfold And I came to notice of a wound she bears from above her ankle More astonishingly, movement was seen beneath her embowel I deduce a leech have found a way into her body to feed upon And it sickens me to know its alive and nourishing from beyond Before I had the time to cut it out, it disappears into her thigh Not like this…! She deserves not in this unnatural state to die She seem almost peaceful within my arms, weakening at her rest Her white owl has descended by her side as well, finding comfort to nest I begin to see her in a different light, in a way I wasn’t at all aware Looking at her fragility structure with a sense of lost to bear Lean with muscles massed not from training but the Holy War Her acute concept of survival from years of loneliness to befall Exotic and beautiful yet unnoticed within the confines of conflict Define in ways of serenity where reality frails yet a never to seek Just then, she opened her eyes to reveal the crystalline blue A pair of azure deepen with enigmatic divinity that exist to few Paled of life, she searches and sees herself within my embrace And she reaches out to take my hand… every feeling endear to misplace “As I lay in your arms My strength wanes in the shadow of death Tears seeing another dying Sun My love holds on for you till my last of breath” As she closes her eyes once more, she sunk into solitary Is she loving me all this time in her own quiet sanctuary? I held on to her tighter, fearing evermore then before to lose her In this forsaken land, is there simply no justice to seek of here?
