Thank You, Vince

Man has come a long way
A man named Vince schooled my consolation
When amidst the ruin could not shake the desolation
Of things just falling away

But it is only a small step
My brother, Suzerdail, the giant leap was retrogression
There are miles and miles to go to find this satisfaction
So long we creep towards the step

We savages of a noble race
We kingdom builders in the rubble of hate
In each man's doom I seal my own fate
We splattering disgrace

So right you are, my friend
Yet I would surrender all my rights for it to cease
This injustice, this poverty that sets our static crease
This limit on the hope of men.

We who are kindred here
Let us band, no more to folly shall our talents bow
But let us for mankind deal tyranny a death blow
And men shall our pen revere

David, this is a wonderful tribute to Vince! Have you let him know you posted it. Vince is a man of fine moral character and strong beliefs. It sounds like you and he could lead our world to a better place. And there are many who would follow this type of leadership. Excellent poem, my friend. Still playing catch up. Love, Carolyn
