Tabby Hunts For His Best Friend Malley
Tabby Cat from London Town walked in the alley
With a strut and a hop, looking for his pal, Malley.
Malley had been shipped off to a house for Christmas Day.
If you play your cards right, the man said, we might let you stay.
Tabby Cat did not know where his friend Malley was.
He heard loud sirens and saw lights; so, he hid from the fuzz.
He felt startled and irritated, where could he pal Malley be?
They liked to sit on the shop ledge and watch the store’s tv.
Have you seen Malley? He asked MacVee, an alley rat.
I do not think so, MacVee said, nervous around this big cat.
Slippery snake, a big gossip came slipping and slithering by.
I saw some people wrestle him into a car, but why?
This startled Tabby Cat, so he went around looking and mewing.
He finally saw an injured pigeon that was softly cooing.
Have you see Malley the Cat? He asked the bird in a kind way.
Started and scared, the bird promptly hopped away.
The folks thought Malley’s behavior was outrageous and bad.
They sent him back to the alley, and they felt really glad.
Tabby Cat was excited beyond belief to see Malley his best friend.
I had to come back Malley told him, you are my friend to the end!
