Senility Prayer

SENILITY PRAYER

God, grant that my eyes
Though growing dim now
Still help me get around somehow

And though my pate
Is beginning to show
A toupee will cover it up I know

My gait has grown slow
And a little shaky too
But I can still dance a jig or two

My hearing is almost totally gone
And a chill has crept
Into these old bones

You have filled my heart with song
 My faith in You Lord
Is still real strong

I doze a lot
In my easy chair
But no one seems to really care

They know my time is drawing nigh
 And they wonder sometime
Why I sit and cry

Well, Lord, the bottom line You see
Is just how good
You've been to me

Blessed beyond measure
By Your great hand
I ponder Your salvation plan

It pleases me to feel the love
Sent through Your Son
From up above

To know that through His Blood
I've been saved
And He will raise me from the grave

When He comes again
He'll take me Home to be
In Heaven for all eternity

Triple wowsa!!! The title alone is good for a triple W! Loads of wit and wisdom sown into this. My pate is pretty thin too:-) but my gait is still OK (thank goodness!) Oh, I'll throw in GOTD! for verses 2 & 3. I guess this a well rounded poem then, eh? Cheerduckin's! ~ john

I like this, Curtis! It's kind of scary to grow older, but if we look to Jesus we've nothing to fear. Blessings, Kim
