Scaling Mountains: the Search For Self-Worth

Today I stood upon a cloud, The breeze gently kissed my face And for a fleeting moment I felt proud. I did the impossible, I set the pace This is the view I tirelessly sought My reward for battles bravely fought Then troublesome thoughts sprang to mind "This is not what I hoped to find In your heart, you know it's true, You’re still the same no matter what you do. You’re the weak boy that you always was, And just because you’ve found yourself, Risen above common man, In my mind you’re still a lowly ant" Why can’t you just let me be? Why can’t I be free to be happy? And in that second I had my reply “Come up with a harder dream, Climb that new summit! Then I’ll bless you with more self esteem” So with weary hands, I’ll climb again Scaling mountains, exploring lands.
