in fact an inactive
radio doesn't play

but if it's in a 
state of static
the exact amount
of millirems is about

how i feel
overexposed
as i approach
the site where 

i work
and as i 
get nearer the
clicking begins as

the geiger
counter needle
reveals the tension
within yet i must go in 

pulling open
the door and as 
i swipe my badge
it knows i'm there by

knowing my
name being
aware that
my blood

pressure
has changed
as the turnstile 
turns as teeth that

gnash and
snap to swallow
through more mouth
doors that lead me into

the belly
of the beast
and at best i can
find relief at least in

my locker
locking in my
soul for safety for
that day that i may re

main non
genetically
changed by
not radioact

ivity but
idiotic
numb
ing

nega
tiv
it
y

Thanks Richard, but I find my Eden is within me. I write most of my poetry at work; so my mind is miles away from a melt down.

Thanks Caren, but no I work for the USPS and the negativity is worse then a nuclear power plant melt down lol.
