Pine-Wood Wings

AC Benus translation of "Uns/ aus den Händen/ fielen die Kameën" by Robert Jentzsch We/ from our hands/ watched as the cameoes lay Slipped from our fingertips used to their caress; Fallen are the pearls whose tempered sight just may Have spared us from our own distress. Past/ is the day. Others cheer when it concludes With deep evening as gliding stars come to play; On the other hand we repent dying moods. Pine-wood wings blowing clouds away.
