Owed To the Lego Men

Do you ever have those days
When your mind wonders in a haze
And you take yourself through time and space
Back to your child hood, that special place
And you think of toys you would never share
Your Transformers, your fav teddy bear
But in a Tupperware box under the bed
Some little dudes can be found
Each with plastic for a head
And though living in darkness
Not seen for a while
Relentlessly they continue to smile
One has no legs,
Pulled apart like stick
Split down the middle
Like a cheap conjurers trick
But these chaps were always there
Ready to fight, ready to follow me
On the fore front of design
Plastic pioneers of technology
So Forget about Barbie, forget about Ken
This poems my tribute to the brave Lego Men
