My Light and My Salvation - Psalm 27: 1-4
There is only one true light
who shines through all my heart
He is also my living salvation
keeping me secure in no small part
I have no need of being in fear
for Jesus is my mighty stronghold
all my enemies will ultimately fall
faith in my Lord Jesus makes me bold
My confidence is in my Lord
even if an army stands against me
I'll stand taller on His shoulder
by His grace, I've been set free
Lord, please give me one thing
for all my life may I eternally dwell
in your house under God's blessing
to drink from my salvation's well
In God's temple there inquiring
gazing on the Lord's beauty divine
Psalm 27 is my very favorite one
David's words spell salvation's light mine
(Psalm 27: 1-4(ESV)
The Lord is my light and my salvation;
whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold[a] of my life;
of whom shall I be afraid?
When evildoers assail me
to eat up my flesh,
my adversaries and foes,
it is they who stumble and fall.
Though an army encamp against me,
my heart shall not fear;
though war arise against me,
yet[b] I will be confident.
One thing have I asked of the Lord,
that will I seek after:
that I may dwell in the house of the Lord
all the days of my life,
to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord
and to inquire in his temple.)
