Lights In the World -Philippians 2: 12-18

Here the apostle Paul speaks to exhort
the beloved of the Lord to be his light
for this world needs the living gospel
God's His own to obedience so right

The Lord's free gift of salvation has a price
Jesus paid that price on Calvary's cross
His obedience there for us to follow on
to neglect His inspired word is our loss

Remember God works in you looking on
so you need your salvation to be at work
in fear and trembling to be like Jesus
be workers for the Lord never to shirk

May your marks be without blemish
as blameless and innocent children of God
to shine God's light deep into this world
hold fast to God's word unite in sweet accord

Rejoice and be glad to be in Christ
look to the day of Christ and be proud
to be a sacrificial offering of faith
be faithful always so to Christ abound

("Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure.
Do all things without grumbling or disputing, that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, holding fast to the word of life, so that in the day of Christ I may be proud that I did not run in vain or labor in vain. Even if I am to be poured out as a drink offering upon the sacrificial offering of your faith, I am glad and rejoice with you all. Likewise you also should be glad and rejoice with me.")
