Lift Up Your Eyes - Psalm 120: 1-7
So in defeat and utter distress
I called above on the Lord
in mercy, He answered me
revealing His blessing in sweet accord
I seem surrounded by evil
hearing so many lying lips
as well as a deceitful tongue
where's my true rescue ship
For too long I have dwelt
among those who detest peace
I stand on God's true shalom
but my enemy's voices never cease
Then I hear God's blessed word
clearly say 'lift up our eyes'
look up for I am here
eternally yours and never dies
(In my distress I called to the Lord,
and he answered me.
Deliver me, O Lord,
from lying lips,
from a deceitful tongue
What shall be given to you,
and what more shall be done to you,
you deceitful tongue?
A warrior's sharp arrows,
with glowing coals of the broom tree!
Woe to me, that I sojourn in Meshech,
that I dwell among the tents of Kedar!
Too long have I had my dwelling
among those who hate peace.
I am for peace,
but when I speak, they are for war!)
