Let Me

I have the makeup of a human being With all myself intact If I hear the whispers of my conscience How can you tell me how to act? If I can face myself with no disguise What are your thoughts compared to that? After all you chose to see the world With naked eyes and shades pulled back Could you please just for a moment See the me that's underneath? I promise you an oath you'll never choke on my beliefs And I'll be your promoter, you can keep what you believe I'm just asking you to give that back to me I have a compass I took with me Since I first could form a thought I always had a light to turn to When every path ahead was blocked And yet you claim to know the depths And all the legnths that I must walk You think your judgement is my guidance But I'm sorry, it is not

You are a talent, my friend, and you bare your conscience---wrapping it in the enigma that is uniquely you. I so enjoy reading and reflecting on your poems. Please write many, many more!! Go for it! Best wishes, Gershon

Kriticos, this is a wonderful poem and easy to read. it is full of meaning and connects directly to what we live around us on daily basis. No one than us can claim they know our depths and lengths we walk in life.
