If I Were An Elephant
If I were an elephant
So big and strong and proud
I'd fit right in with any
Other elephant-al crowd.
No one would call me "fat"
Or "chubs," "obese," or even "thick"
Because all my ginormous friends
Would silence them real quick.
The big ears that I try to hide
From embarrassment and shame
Would rather be my beauty marks
Bringing pachydermal fame.
And as I aged I could chill
About wrinkles and some grey
Elephants are happy to
Be born and live that way!
Big nose? No worries!
Here's a trunk! And all uniquely beautiful.
Buck teeth! No way! I'll show you how
My tusks are truly useable!
The best part, truth be told,
If an elephant I could be
I'd be so big I could stomp bullies
But I'd choose to set them free.
