Hello Pigeon How Are You Today
Hello, Pigeon, How Are You Today?
By Elton Camp
When a phoning stranger calls you by name
Know that he is playing some financial game
And he intends to offer you a chance to invest
One that offers a return far higher than the rest
In hard economic times, he know what you need
And makes a blatant appeal to usual human greed
Even though we suspect it’s an attempt to deceive
That such profit can be so easy we want to believe
The best way to deal with such an obnoxious crook
Is simply to silently return the receiver to the hook
If your desire to show courtesy makes it hard to do
There are still other ways that will work well too
Ask for an address and a number to call him back
That will almost always throw him off the track
Remember that his intent is to defraud and steal
He has been told such information don’t reveal
Or say, “Now send this to me in writing please.”
His refusal will confirm that it’s only a sleaze
Then you can feel good about it when you say
“I am not stupid and don’t do business this way.”
