Haiku Harvest

HAIKU HARVEST

picnic table bare
ground cover heavy with leaves
a flash of jay blue

leaves turned brown
heaven of twigs
sassy squirrel digging

house eaves in shadow
blue sky poking through
sparrows all puffed up

late november
cardinal
    like bloody spot

post halloween
scarecrow in tatters
candy wrappers

interesting vignettes into the end of a season! i really enjoyed them, and how they are mostly nature based. I saw them come in from PFT but knew it would do no good to comment to you from my hotmail account. Can't you have someone test my account and see if you had it blocked by accident?

Tis a harvest indeed, each one a treasure to read; Your splendid mind is for all to find and I love to see where you lead. Can't pick a favorite, they are all so special! :)

Remarkable poem, Daver. I can see the flash of the blue jay among the leaves and like the way you describe the cardinal as a "bloody spot" amidst the fall scenery. Right now I'm feeling like a "post halloween scarecrow in tatters." LOL But what can we do about the candy wrappers tricker-or-treaters leave behind? Smile and pick them up. Delightful, Daver! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family. Love and blessings, Carolyn
