God Is Light
The sea grows turbulent; the lone ship veers
off-course. The night becomes the enemy
of crew and captain. Struck with worst of fears,
they peer into the void; no light they see.
Their hope is waning fast, but then a light
directs the seamen safely to the shore.
A lighthouse is their savior on this night.
Their story joins the wealth of sailors’ lore.
When life’s chaotic and devoid of peace,
I ask the Lord to guide me through the storms.
He is the Light who bids my angst to cease
and banishes the dark in all its forms.
