Full-Time Purveyor of These Blues

Upside down and inside out
I keep turning
Not long ago I stopped believing
In myself
My mind keeps adding fuel to the fire
And the bottles been responsible
For the hit taken to my health

I'm a full time purveyor of these blues
My candle burns from both ends
As I try to hide the truth
Little did I know that when
She walked on out the door
That my mind would race towards outter space
While my heart fell at the floor

Now these blues feel impossible to overcome
It's like resistance holds me hostage
At the barrel of its gun
Though I'm thankful for the reasons
That help me write these songs
They make my mind contemplate
On where it all went wrong

I'm a full time purveyor of these blues
Arm in arm I walk with Jim and Jack
To help pull me through
And I keep on living a way of life
I never thought I'd choose
Only a broken man can understand
I'm a purveyor of the blues

Naturally I'm still living
At rock bottom
And this mountains hard to climb
Like Elvis sang
It's an uphill battle when you live
A fulltime life in hell
So I guess if I'm gonna go
I'll take it all the way

I'm a full time purveyor of these blues
I guess my path's already set
What more do I have to lose
Until I climb out of this bottle
I'll be stuck here in the blues
I'll retire as a broken man
And a purveyor to these blues

Only a broken man can understand
I'm a purveyor of these blues
