Should we engage others as if speaking to our own beloved family and friends? Yes, unless otherwise and in fair and righteous judgment we condemn the evil in this world and its faithful followers. You poem delivers a great and true message my good friend. Love and empathy defeats hate and darkness. A fav.. gifting verse to speak truth is a sacred duty of we poets.

I appreciate your visit and comment, Harry H - there is no point trying to prove a point, by engaging an angry person in conversation. Strong emotions "switch off" the ability to reason.That's how wars start. Sometimes it's better to be quiet. ( but still write poetry, of course! : )))

Freedom of speech gets lost trying to transliterate arguments into peaceful interactions...A war of words starts with two " sides" who refuse to interact amicably- in war, defense and attack become one and the same thing.
