Defensive Schemes

Some things in life are guarded from the start and sealed They are so well secured, protected, and hard to steal. There's a great sense of safety and a very comfortable feel. The contents are highly treasured; nothing gets in or out. The best of thieves change their plans and take another route. Such may be the case for things material, but not so with us mortals. Down inside the deepest parts of our hearts, into the far reaching portals, In the soul, we attempt constructions and engineer great defensive schemes. Yet, our best efforts do not negate the emotional assaults, massive and mean. We most assuredly maintain that our maker made no mistakes, and though it seems we are flawed above and beyond repair, He always knew that we had to be redeemed. Life can be beautiful and cuddly, but we often wish we were made of steel. Unfortunately, we humans, though highly valued, are born without shields. Moreover, we are born into a world of invaders, penetrators, and perpetrators. To compensate, usually after an offense, we build our walls of defense hoping To be sheltered from the harms and hurts of, not a brave new world, but unfortunately, a depraved old world. 100719PoSoupFB
