Covid-19

COVID-19 They christened her Corona, and not to be dismissed The blight that made the planet, get its knickers in a twist They closed the universities, and then they closed the schools The world was in a panic because no one knew the rules We soon ran out of toilet roll and the pasta disappeared Sanitizer was no more and the various shelves were cleared They brought in social distancing, self isolation too We battened down the hatches from the microbes that accrue All the sport was cancelled, the nightclubs had to shut The bars then called last orders and life was in a rut Things were getting serious; our lives were all in shock Days just watching telly, and staring at the clock A cure will come from somewhere, to make us well again A welcome antitoxin from this self imposed constrain Yet someone is responsible for causing this whole mess A Government, a Military, who took things to excess

though I'm not a big reader of poetry I really like yours . some really funny and some about belfast most people probably wouldn't realize how good they are unless they lived it . My wife is a wilson too ,and comes from belfast ,from dublin myself so close enough to know the stories and history .we met in canada ,and live here ,she still talks of the troubles ,thankfully the worst has past .

Yeah, it was no picnic growing up in the 70s and 80s to be honest. Although as kids, we just thought that the military presence was normal. I had a great childhood despite some of the atrocities committed here. Thanks for reading my stuff and I hope you like some of the stuff I post in the future
