Becoming Obsolete

I’m becoming obsolete – I still have AOL And use a land line when I’m home (It’s on the wall, as well). I send most greeting cards with stamps And wash my plates by hand. I light my oven with a match, Which some can’t understand. I perk my coffee, read from books (Not Kindles or its cousins) And write my poems in pencil (Which I sharpen by the dozens). The world is changing much too fast And life is passing by But I’ll be obsolete for sure Before I up and die.

Oh Ilene so true the world is changed so fast, we have a dish washer but we still wash up by hand, we have just had window shutters put on outside and instead of having them run by electric we have had winders put on instead and wind them by hand, give me the old world any day, you have put it so well, take care my friend...Vera.........

Well I thank God that you're so odd with your old fashion'd way's. And that you still find time to write these poems in your last days. :))))). Sorry for the dreary doom. :) You know me, if it rhymes. Peace. :) And I hope I will be here to read them for many years to come.

I still use dial up, have a wood burning stove, and I don't have a dryer. I think the simple things are the best, and my coffee perks me. I love your poems they make me smile, a great humor and flow to them :)
