Ants That Bring

some are born to grow
some are prone to eat
some are bred for the very edge,
these are the ants that bring...
still others yearn to escape
the lords of powder and paper kings -

coyotes skip aside the river Hope
licking the souls of sugared bones,
a maze sits confidently between death
and a home that only lives in dream...

those entrenched stockpile buds of lead
shake their heads and kick the dust
afraid of shadow- afraid of flesh,
three piecers roll die on a velvet lie...
golden parachutes close to chest
will rupture the pigment of hopefull sky-

A ball of mimes stand in the wings
juggling while attached to
revolutionary strings
singing:
some are born to grow
some are born to eat
