A Needle In the Hay
A needle in the hay
lost in your prime
seduced by the streets
by a promise, sublime
pulsating ignorance
strung out in despair
a poetic life gone
struck down in his lair
did you know how far
you walked all alone?
calling out to the voices
you travelled too far from home
chaos of occlusion
your fantasy became hell
where you think your okay
you CAN'T safely dwell
determined to be alone
determined to be quiet
the stench in the alley
your own personal riot
I am here. I can't leave
do not shut me out
your pain inside hides
your pilot, self-doubt
get up, stand up
dig yourself from the hay
it's never too late
tomorrow IS a new day
don't let them take you
a life once bright, gray
you don't have to be buried
a needle in the hay
haunted by the melody
a needle in the hay
