Here's the true story of a beautiful girl.
How the sun shone on her every curl.
Like a proud oyster's flawless, crowning pearl,
she was admired from all around -
the sweetest angel in the town.
She was a ray of bright sunshine,
was good at dancing in a line,
and left everyone feeling fine -
not one would ever wear a frown.
She was a princess without a crown.
I told you - the sweetest girl in town.
But this tale's not done, don't disembark.
This lass possessed a secret, so dark
it resembled chocolate bark.
She fell in love with all her soul
with a donut and its hole.
She spied him in a Winchell's store.
Had she ever felt that way before?
Oh, how this pastry she would adore.
A feeling welled, she couldn't control
her love for the donut and its hole.
She took him home, and he gazed
at her picture with a glazed,
and many more, shocked - amazed.
There was a polaroid with a jelly roll,
frightening the donut and his hole.
He never knew there were so many others.
What became of his brothers?
How he missed his jelly-filled mother!
And then his darling ate him whole,
the little donut with a hole.
I hope this story didn't give you a fright,
as you tossed sleepless through the night.
Try to look at the side that's bright.
For a donut, being eaten is such fun,
and she and he became as one.
