911, 20 Years Later

20 years ago, In New York City, 846 AM Eastern Time, The North Tower was attacked. At 1028 AM, the entire tower fell. 911 quickly became a day of infamy; A day of connectivity, like deep and lasting Attachments to one's family. Never to be forgotten Are the grievous sites and sounds generated by the Mass destruction; nor the aftermaths of pain and Sorrow waged so deep inside our memory. As I write at around 7AM Pacific Time, I find neither Hesitation nor stalls in the portals of my recall capacities. There are myriads of images and thoughts longing to be Spoken about 911 and How it impacted America and the world. I could speak of the startled feeling I experienced listening to the news as I pulled out of my driveway for work. I could share how my heart was deeply Touched by the response of our allies Around the world. I could describe the feel Of unity and love in America as I made stops From town to town on my job. But I would be Pleased to be allowed just one brief observation. Twenty years of Terror War proceeded from the dusts Of two towers that fell. Osama Ben Laten was captured And summarily executed; and The Taliban we understand Never really was disbanded, but now stands again, firmly In charge of Afghanistan. And sadly, I dread to say, it appears that The USA is beginning To terrorize itself. With heart-filled emotions, I find myself asking what I must have felt 20 years ago: "What meanest this hurt and pain we are now being delt?" I'm sure my fellow Americans can feel the Heavy blows attacking our walls of freedom and knocking on our Doors of liberty. May none be without feelings or too blind to see. May the true patriots continue to labor, sometimes thanklessly, And intercede for our great country; for The America we once knew, Created to serve both the many and the few. May all the brave and free God-fearing Americans of goodwill arise, with our constitutional and God- given rights, coupled with common sense and prayer, to defend this great Land of liberty before there's nothing of value left. And May God, upon whose principles America was built, continue to bless The USA. 091121PS

A marvelous piece of writing, Curtis, and I could not help but notice the tower you created with your words. Wonderful job!
