And I smoked reefers and challenged the law, sometimes I'd lose, but I'd call it a draw. Nixon was losing the Vietnam War, shouting he was no crook, or so he swore. And the college students marching for rights were beaten by cops instigating fights. The seventies were a time of turmoil; we were told the world's running out of oil. I recall the seventies all too well, a decade of both ecstasy and hell.
